• About

I enjoy thinking about those times before computers, before telephones and in fact before electricity was available to those in the rural areas of Virginia and the Carolinas. If you needed a piece of furniture you rarely bought it — you had to build it yourself using the types of wood available to your area and the tools at hand. Pine furniture was widely popular in those days, as the lumber was readily available and easy to work.

My furniture reflects this era; pine is the raw material I use most often, and milk paint is the finish I prefer.
